The Newcastle Art Gallery Youth Advisory Group acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, and pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and future. The Youth Advisory Group is dedicated to honouring the culture and traditions of our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the visual arts.

Jasmine Miikika Craciun is a proud Barkindji, Malyangapa woman who has grown up on Awabakal and Worimi land. As a freelancing graphic designer and multi-media artist, the last 3 years have been anything but dull. Recent projects include designing the new visual identity for the Olympic surf team the Irukanjis. Jas has also completed a multitude of large scale mural commissions, for many businesses such as Hunter Water, The Lass O'Gowrie Hotel, City of Newcastle and Cox Inall Ridgeway.
